About us

Recycling Responsibly. Building Sustainably.

Mabani ZM is an industrial recycling company based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, specializing in the treatment of spent lead-acid batteries using world-class European technology.

How the Plant Operates

Battery Reception

Spent lead-acid batteries are received and safely stored before processing. Strict handling procedures ensure safe operations from the moment materials enter the facility.

Separation Unit

In this stage, batteries are mechanically crushed and then separated into their primary components, including lead-bearing materials, polypropylene casings, and electrolyte. This process allows each material to be efficiently segregated, making it easier to handle and prepare them for further processing and recycling.

Smelting & Refining

Lead materials are processed in a rotary furnace and refined in kettles to achieve high-purity lead production. The plant produces lead ingots with purity levels up to 99.985%, as well as customized lead alloys.

Casting & Finishing

Refined lead is cast into standardized ingots through an automated casting, stacking, and strapping system, ensuring consistent product quality.

Vision

To be the benchmark for safe, modern, and responsible battery recycling in West Africa — trusted by communities, businesses, and regulators.

Protecting the environment, safeguarding public health, and advancing sustainable industrial development through world-class technology and operational excellence.
